Hot stone therapy is a therapy that uses stones. Stones have been used therapeutically in different parts of the world. Stone therapy is one of the natural remedies that uses familiar things like plant therapy. There are various methods of use depending on the region, but it seems that it was mainly used for warming and massaging the body with heated stones. Ayurveda (India) has a history of using stones for marma points for over 5,000 years, and in Hawaii the Kahuna used lava for healing massage. In northern China, there is a therapy using a stone called "Henshi", and a treatment method that warms the body has been developed, and moxibustion and warm stones have been used to improve pain and coldness. Native Americans used the stones warmed by the sun in sweat lodges to promote cleansing, and on the lower abdomen during menstrual cramps. In Japan, Onjaku has been used as a substitute for moxibustion and as a "healing" for pain. Stones are not only used for the body, but are also believed to have mysterious powers. Stones have the power to program or generate energy, and the stones themselves are thought to have their own vibrations that affect those with whom they interact. Various stones have been used as "power stones" for amulets, religious ceremonies, and healing. Stone therapy, which is commonly used today, was developed by Marie Nelson as a product of Native American influences. The stone used here is basalt. Basalt is a stone that slowly hardened lava that erupted from a volcano. The stones are heated to 50 to 60 degrees, and the far-infrared rays generated from them warm the body. If you have ever taken a bedrock bath, it will be easy to understand, but since it has the same effect as a bedrock bath, your body will remain warm for a while after the treatment. It is also characterized by a higher effect than a normal hand massage by performing a massage while warming the body. A hot stone massage is said to be three to seven times more effective than a regular hand massage. There is a method of placing a warm stone on the part that is prone to malfunction and warming the part from the core, and a method of massage using oil together, but both are performed during the treatment time.
