◆GREETING
I, Souichirou Watanabe, established TTMA, an industry group for the spread of Thai traditional massage, and have been involved in the development of the industry in no small measure. At school, I have been teaching Thai massage to thousands of people for over 15 years. And I have faced many questions and problems. Many schools convey massage as a mere procedure. The educational policy is that you only have to remember the routine procedure. I never think that massage should follow a routine procedure. The massage I think of has no procedure or order. Each client's body is different, and the same steps can never be effective. Therefore, I have taught many professional therapists and nationally qualified people the massages that I have come up with. I have been teaching under the name of Thai traditional massage, but to be precise, it is a private massage method. I have devised many stretching techniques and have passed them on in school lessons. I myself still don't know what Thai traditional massage is. What I have taught is my massage style. If Thai traditional massage refers to a routine procedure, I have to apologize to the graduated students.

Many students asked me questions. "How can I get a good massage?" I replied. "If you want to be good at massaging, first of all, don't want to be good at massage. If you provide what your clients want, you'll be told you're good at it." The first thing to do is to accept what the other person wants. And if you put the unspeakable needs and wants into shape, that's fine. To do this, calm yourself and gently touch the other person's body, and you will know what the other person's mind and body want. Since the bodies are in contact with each other, energy is transmitted naturally. If you nullify yourself and there is no boundary between you and the other person, you are the other person and the other person is you. If you keep your own self, you will not be able to see anything because you are trapped in your own shell. Before learning technical skills, it is important to have a mental state when massaging.

I think massage is the way. Calm your mind and lose yourself. And to unite your energy with the other person. By doing so, your body will move freely and you will be able to get the massage that the other person wants. If we can blend ourselves into this universe on this earth, we will see more things.

Just as there are many schools of yoga, the Thai massage school is also branched by the way of thinking. The Bangkok style is a classic, but it has a strong acupressure element, and the Chiang Mai style, which is said to have a lot of stretch, does not actually include much stretch. The government-affiliated government style is a safety-focused technique, so there is only a small amount of stretching.

Until now, I have only told this procedure to students who have learned Bangkok style and Chiang Mai style, but recently I realized that it was a detour. Therefore, at this lesson studio, we would like to teach this treatment method from the beginning regardless of whether you are an experienced person or an inexperienced person.

  ◆RELOCATION TO THE FOREST
The main reason for moving from the Tokyo Shibuya building to Gokurakuji is the existence of natural energy. Renewable energy has a great impact on the human body. The natural healing power is not only in the human body, but also in the place. Natural healing power has been thought to be the energy of a person's inner qi, but in reality it is also present in the environment and the field, so it is important to increase the energy of the field. Feng Shui and the family minister try to heal the mind and body and improve luck by taking in good spirits. The calming and refreshing land is called Iyashirochi, while the depressing low-energy land is called Kegarechi. In order to increase your own life energy, it is important to put yourself in a place with high energy. The Tomigaya area in Shibuya Ward, which has been active as a base for instruction for about 20 years, was not a place that gives off negative energy, but I was able to find a better place and have a connection with this place.

  ◆About Shivaka Traditional Medicine School
The Shivaka School of Traditional Medicine is located on a small hill in the forest of Gokurakuji, Kamakura. It is a place in Kamakura City that has been certified as a historic site and buried cultural property storage area. It is a part of the precincts of Gokuraku-ji Temple, which once boasted a mighty power, and it seems that it is also the place where the Nitta Yoshisada army took the camp in the offense and defense with the Kamakura Shogunate. In other words, it is a place protected as a ruin of the Kamakura period. Since it is in the mountains that you can finally reach by climbing nearly 100 steps from the entrance, this place is an isolated place where the chirping of birds echoes. I can't hear the noise of cars or the sounds of people's lives. Since it is over 40 meters above sea level, there is no need to worry about a tsunami. Even in the Kamakura area, which is being developed as a commuter town in the city center, it is one of the few places where good old Kamakura remains. The site of Kamakura Gokurakuji Dojo is about 1700 tsubo (more than 5500 square meters). The dojo is enshrined in it. In the forest, you can bathe in the forest, meditate in the forest, and recharge your energy. I think it's a very good environment to get away from everyday life and calm down and seek something. In addition, a vast forest owned by Kamakura City spreads around the site, which is connected to a hiking trail. It is not accessible by car, but you can reach Enoden Gokurakuji Station in about 5 minutes on foot from the entrance.

◆About Gokurakuji in the Kamakura period
Ninsho, who opened Gokurakuji during the Kamakura period, is a high-ranking priest who focused on social work and was revered as "Io Nyorai." Ninsho is a powerful person at the time, who was entrusted with the right to manage ports, fishery rights, and the right to collect customs money from the shogunate, and even managed land and sea traffic routes and rivers. At that time, Gokurakuji was a powerful force, and many relief facilities were built in this Gokurakuji area. As depicted in the "Gokuraku-ji Temple Precincts Picture Map", Ninsho is known for having a ward and treating many patients with intractable diseases. The medical facility he built is said to have saved many lives in 20 years. It is said that there are 46,800 living people and 10,450 dead people, which means that about 80% have lived. Also, during famine, people were porridged, building horse wards for sick cows and horses, and working to rescue the poor, orphans, and even animals. In the spirit of Buddhist mercy, he banned hunting of birds and beasts, and banned the killing of creatures. At that time, when there were no monks who touched leprosy patients because they were tainted, they visited them themselves, or carried an unwalkable beggar on their backs and took them to a busy place, and in the evening they picked them up again. There is an episode that you will be brought back. If you compare it to the modern style, is it like an executive of a large company or a politician / influential person in the governor's class taking care of a seriously ill patient or a homeless person? We were very interested in the priest named Ninsho, who has a tradition of having these two contradictory images.

  ◆Massage in modern society
Mankind's activities have been repeated for thousands of years. And in the last 100 years, humanity has faced dramatic changes. Life has become more convenient, but at the same time, various problems are emerging. The structure of modern society is a world in which the economy is always dominant. And by pursuing profits, we are creating various harmful effects. Many problems have come to light, such as stressful societies, air pollution, radioactive contamination, food additives, and so on. Things are always two sides of the same coin. I think it is a fact that we must not forget that the pursuit of convenience is creating its harmful effects. The world is full of uncertainties about what is good and what is bad. I searched for something that could help someone, without hurting anything, leaving no negative factors, but I couldn't find much. I also realized that massaging is a wonderful act that can help someone without damaging the global environment.

  ◆Through this school
When you are alive, you will encounter some difficulties and hardships. I think it's better to have 10% of all happy things. Most of the time it doesn't go as planned. I am no exception. Therefore, I think that I am practicing every day and try to keep my normal mind. I have thought about killing myself several times in my life. I thought every time. If you give up trying to live for yourself and for yourself ... If you want to live for someone ... Think that you can do anything if you have the determination and courage to die It is a series of daily admonitions. A tribe who betrays people for money and for maintenance. A tribe who has the standard to judge things only by their own profits and losses. It's been a long time since I decided that most of the egoists in the world are such egoists. I started massage because my parents couldn't do anything when they passed away. Rather than quibbling, I've come to want to make someone easier with my own hands. At this school, we would like to welcome new people who are thinking of starting again as massage therapists and instructors. In a sense, as a dojo, I would be happy if it could be useful to everyone.
